Show Notes
Jake: "The concert ruled, but I did think they would take requests. It was awesome anyway. They played all these songs in an hour and a half. Started at 9:00, ended at 10:45, but this was truly the greatest show on earth. I was surprised at the age of some people. I saw very few little kids. A lot of younger girls who would be more into boybands. Some older people who I
wouldn't think were into this. The Twin Cities really love Green Day, a lot of energy."

Nicole: "Earlier tonight, my fiance and I went to the Green Day concert in St. Paul. Everything was going fine through the first act, then that is when everything went horribly wrong. Don't get me wrong, we are not those people who have never been to their concerts before, so we knew what we were in for. My fiance is 6 foot and 250 pounds. He is not a pushover. I think of myself as a pretty 'go-with-the-flow' girl too, and that's usually fine. Tonight, however, we were in the third 'row' of people from the stage. We have been there before, so we knew it was going to get hot, sticky and dangerous, for lack of a better word. What we didn't expect was everyone climbing on top of everyone else and so on and so forth. To say the least, it was disgusting. There were 13 and 14 year olds getting trampled on and knocked to the floor. That is not the worst part. The fact that the security did nothing to these scumbags who were forcing themselves on everyone was bad, but the fact that the band themselves did nothing was worse. Now I know, they probably see this kind of thing all over the world. It's not new to me either, but isn't there something that can be done about this? Can they stop the concert, or point out that it is not cool to participate in all this melodrama? I don't know. All I do know is that I bought these concert tickets because Green Day is my fiance's all time favorite band and I thought we'd have fun. Now, instead, we stayed at the concert for only the first 2 songs, then pushed our way through the crowd to get the hell out of there. It was a waste of money and I don't know if my fiance will ever go to one again, let alone remain a fan of the band. I know it is not their fault and they cannot control their fans, but they have to have some power, right? He (and I) were very disappointed."

Erin: "It was an amazing night! I went with two of my friends and we got to the Roy Wilkens Auditorium ealry and got in (it was a small theater). The Living End was great! I'm so glad I was on the floor and not up in the belcony. It took Green Day a long time before they came on. They lowered a curtain because behind it was the big Green Day background. The sirens went off and red lights spinned. Tre came up to his drums and sat down, them Mike went up to the stage in his white tank top and Billie came out last and was SO SEXY!!! He wore that blue and white striped t-shirt. Everyone cheered and they started playing Nice Guys Finish Last. Billie did these pelvic thrusts and said he was going to play a pretty song that was going to make people want to make love in the parking lot. He said his parents were there too! I was in front by the bar the whole concert on Billie's side and when he came over to us, everyone reached for him and I was the closest, within a foot at least!! The dude next to me got a drumstick. Grr. During Knowledge, he had people come up to play the instruments. The first drummer was bad so they kicked him off! A guy played Billie's guitar and a girl played the bass. She was incredible! She had all the moves Mike did! The two of them danced around the stage with the guitars and Billie really seemed to enjoy it! Then they stage dove. Other things that happened were that Billie had a mask for Longview and a crown for King For a Day. He put random clothes on his head from people who tossed shirts on stage. It was hillarious! An article of clothing came flying by his head and he turned to look back and laughed cause it just missed him. He also laughed at the toilet paper people threw. OH! A big guy (roadie) had on a tutu and was dancing around stage like a little ballerina! Billie said how 2000 light years away was about a girl form Mankato MN (adrienne). He said something about those ass holes in Chicago (sorry chicago) and how Minnesota really knows how to dance! Here's a quote: "I like them Minnesota girls. I like the Minnesota boys too!"...Tre brought his drums closer for that song (he was really hot too). They didnt' smash anything. At the end, all this shiny silver confetti was blown out of the high speaker things over the crowd. I really wished I could've met the band. They didn't let anyone bring cameras and if I had, I'd have had the best shots of Billie! :( This is defenately NOT the LAST green day concert i intend to go to! I love them so much."

Kendra: "Hey I'm from St Paul and went to the concert last night. The opening band was cool (almost all aussi's I've met are though) Billie and rest of the band totally rocked! I had a frontside view... there was moshing and bodysurfing which the mocksecurity hated. Billie took out a huge squirt gun and cooled us off, and pulled people onto the stage to create a "new band" It was like he was with the crowd the whole night. The only bad things... some drunk teeniebopper was hitting me and trying to choke me to get closer to the stage and my hubbie got his head smashed."

Suzy: "I got to roywilkins around 600.When i got there i bought a green day shirt. And then just hung around for an hour. Then around 7 we went and sat in are seats and stole a green day sign hanging up.I really wanted floor but yeah i probally would of died so.Then at 800 the living end came out and played for an half hour. They were ok i didnt really know them. Then they set up the stage for green day that took like an hour. so around 900 green day finally came out. Billie joe was so hot he wore his black and blue striped shirt with his black pants. They sang "nice guys finish last"Then they sang these songs "hitchen a ride" "longview" "geek stink breath" "2000 light years away" Billie joe started talking how your going to wanna make love in the parking lot and how your going to have a big fucking orgasim. He made everyone do the hey ho like 50 times.then they sang "knowledge" by operation ivy they had 3 people come play the drums bass and guitar. the frist drummer sucked so they had someone else play. then they all did a stage dive off. They played "basket case" "she" "waiting" "minority" "castaway" "brain stew" "jaded" "platypus" "kind for a day" "good ridence" then they finished off by play "macys day parade" It was the best concert and it was the best damn night of my life. Then the buses were parked out front we waited around for an hour and they finally came out waved to everyone and they left.I will never froget that night although i really wish i could of have gotten green days autograph but oh well maybe next time."
