Show Notes
Matt Webber: "After a 2-hour drive from Brandon to Winnipeg and a half an hour wait in line, I was finally inside the Winnipeg Stadium - at EDGEfest '98! Taking sunscreen turned out to be wise, as bodies got redder, and redder as the day wore on. Green Day kicked ass! This was my first time seeing the trio live! Wow, what a performance. Billie Joe in the devil mask singing The Beautiful People, not to mention his underwear antics during King For A Day, and then the whole bringing-the-kid-up-on-stage-to-play-guitar thing. And of course, billie joe's comments about the state of Alternative Rock & his electric guitar version of Time of Your Life! I could go on and on. The Tea Party closed the show with a really good set - pretty hard to follow Green Day, though. I wasn't able to get any autographs as the lineups were too HUGE, and getting an autograph would've meant missing out on some of the many stellar acts at EDGEfest '98!"

Aaron: "Hey, I'm here to tell you about the best fucking day of my life. The day was July 4, The place was Winnipeg Stadiam. After getting beaten and bruised in the mosh pit for six sets with bands including The foo fighters, Sloan, Creed, and Econoline crush. It was time for what i was waiting for. As Creed left the stage I stood with my best friend Travis as the crowd started to build around us. Then a very popular song started to play through the speakers... "It's not to late, to wip it, wip it good." We had a good laugh. Then BJ and Mike ran out on the stage with tre hobbeling behind with his cruches due to a broken foot. They started playing "Nice Guys Finish last" with the crowd going absolutely nuts. Trav and I got seperated right away. I got absolutely killed. Having to crawl out of the mosh pit on my hands and knees. Then songs like Hitchen a Ride and Longview followed. I forget exactly how the set went (I was to busy trying to stay alive). Then Billie started to toy with the crowd a bit (He is the greatest entertainer in the world) "On the count of three i want all you people down on the floor to turn around and give all those people in the stands the finger and yell FUCK YOU. of course the people did. Then knowledge started and from past reviews i knew what was coming next "Who knows how to play the fucking guitar, Who really knows how to play, you, ok because if you get up here and you fucking suk!, i'll throw you in the crowd and every one's gonna kick you're ass!" The guy played the song perfect. Then they started playing king for a day. BJ must have been fucking stoned because he ripped off his pants and started dancing around in a leather thong. Then they trashed the stage with tre lighting the drums on fire. For the encore BJ came out solo and played Good Ridance (Time of your life) all 35,000 people sang along it was a great feeling. "
