Show Notes
Jeffrey Harris: "...Armstrong also went over the band's history in New York. Green Day headlined their first ever New York event at the same venue in 1994 on St. Patrick's day. 'The only thing I can remember is there was green vomit all over the floor. Ah, the luck of the Irish,' said Amstrong."
Christopher Lynam: "If I remember correctly, this was right around Dookie's release. They played Irving Plaza on St Patrick's day, 'Green Day on St. Patrick's day... What a lovely idea!' Tilt opened... They were so sick with what they called 'tourflu'... They still killed it. Got to meet them and see the soundcheck for that show... Damn I'm old."
Billie Joe Armstrong, SiriusXM Small Stage Series interview 1/18/2024: "The first time we played here was in 1994 when Dookie just came out. And it was really really fun- it was very sweaty and I remember trying not to slip on the stage because the ground was so moist"
