Nick Simon: "Band years. This is 1991, I think. And Green Day wasn't the headliner."
usernamenotallowed: "In Sioux Falls on Minnesota Ave. behind the Starbucks ... I went to my first concert there when I was just a wee little kid ... but I heard they would ask for places to stay and they crashed at my grandma and grandpa's which made them amazing..."
Mel: "I was there. The Nordic Hall was quite the place. I remember a long flight of steps - it didn't get any more 'underground' (for music, literally) than that. I still have the dent in my leg from riding around on a food service cart. We were there every weekend. Between the Limelight, the Pomp Room, Nordic Hall ... and random people's garages ... the music scene will forever be etched in our memories."
Billie Joe Armstrong: "And then she showed up in Sioux Falls, and then she just grabbed me. She said, 'Billie Joe?' And I turned around and my first, I was just, I had to remember what she looked like, because I couldn't - it just didn't register at first. I remember her voice just from the phone. And she turned and looked at her friend and goes, 'He doesnt remember me.' And I felt like the biggest tool at that second. I was like, 'Oh my god.' I can't, you know, I was like, 'Yes I do.' And so we, I don't know, then we went to... There was a dumpster out in the back and we just talked all night long..."
